Buyer guide

What belongs on a SaaS integration page?

A SaaS integration page should explain prerequisites, data direction and the workflows actually supported. Buyers need to know what moves, when it moves and what happens when it fails. An integration logo does not establish a working connection or a provider partnership.

Describe data direction, prerequisites and failures

Specify the account permissions, source event, destination fields and failure owner for one CRM-to-scheduler journey. Keep initial import distinct from ongoing updates and say which system owns each shared value. These details let a buyer evaluate fit without mistaking two integration logos for a verified working connection.

Worked example — illustrative data.

Field Specimen requirement Evidence to supply
Prerequisite Admin approval in both systems Actual permissions and supported plans
Direction CRM account → scheduler organization Field mapping and update rules
Trigger Approved account event Supported event and retry behavior
Failure Hold failed record for review Error visibility and responsible owner
Limit No billing data in this concept Current integration scope

Write one supported journey from the source event to the destination record. Distinguish initial import from ongoing synchronization, and create a policy for duplicate records. Explain whether a deleted source record is deleted, archived or untouched in the other system. Link current setup documentation and identify who handles failures. Mark a proposed connector as a concept until access and behavior are verified.

Trace one changed record in each supported direction

For the fictional CRM connection, name the source record and the field that should update in the scheduler. Rehearse a supported change and a failure using synthetic data. If updates can travel both ways, define which system wins a conflict and how the responsible owner discovers it. Keep unsupported fields and billing data outside the stated integration scope.

Two-way updates need a conflict owner

Two-way synchronization can create conflicts if both systems edit the same field. Name the canonical owner for each shared value before promising that the records always stay aligned.

Approve the page only when a reader can determine fit without guessing the data boundary. Omit an integration badge if the only evidence is an intention to build it.
