Clarify the passage an answer misreads
Separate what the source says from what the cited answer inferred. Clarify range versus current stock without altering the underlying product truth. A better source sentence keeps the subject and qualification together for customers; whether a later answer uses it correctly remains a separate observation under recorded conditions.
Worked example — illustrative data.
| Item | Fictional wording | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Source before | Available across our studio range | Ambiguous: range versus every variant |
| Illustrative answer | Every finish is currently available | Unsupported stock conclusion |
| Source after | The range includes brass and black; check each variant’s current stock | Separates range from availability |
| Evidence link | Exact product and inventory state | Supports the narrower claim |
Save the complete answer, citation URL, source passage and run context when handling a real case. Identify whether the problem is ambiguous wording, stale information, entity confusion or unsupported inference. Rewrite the source sentence to name the subject and qualification together. Keep the page useful for shoppers rather than adding instructions addressed to AI systems. Record the source edit date and later observe the original prompt separately.
Put the limiting condition beside the claim
Rewrite the smallest ambiguous passage before expanding the page. For the fictional range statement, keep the list of finishes and place the stock qualification in the same sentence or immediately beside the selector. Then ask a reviewer to read that passage alone and state what it promises. A general disclaimer at the footer does not clarify a misleading product sentence.
Clear source wording may still be misinterpreted
A source can be clear while the answer still draws an incorrect conclusion. Do not distort correct product information merely to chase one response. Retain the evidence and use an appropriate provider feedback route where available.
Accept the source edit when it improves the factual reading for people. Treat any later answer change as a separate observation, with no causal or inclusion guarantee.
Will clearer wording force the next answer to use it?
No. Clearer wording improves the source for readers and systems, but a later answer may use another passage or source. Keep the source revision and the subsequent answer capture separate when assessing the change.
